If you are referring to Skyrim,I agree.
I also feel that while solid,Kingdoms is not a 95/100 game.not at all
It is however,easily one of the best in recent months
Skyrim is 'dumbed down',even mind numbingly so.
The numbing effect is prevalent in some areas more than others.
Only in a year so terrible can we crown such a King.
If 'dumbed down' appears as Goty after 10 hours in Skyrims mundane embrace....then it is already too late.
I'm all for eliminating cumbersome gameplay......and adding depth and complexity as well.cut/add cut/add..... I know....difficult
If not for Skyrim(however overrated & broken) and Amalur my PS3 wouldn't see use.The entire '360 no games,PS3 tons of amazing masterpieces' is a carefully crafted obfuscation in most cases.imo
As for sooooo much better?.. marginally less disappointing in general would be my answer.

Good enough' hasn't stopped,in fact it is stronger than ever.
Bethesda is at fault,they knew of the problems or at least were aware that problems would likely occur.Shipped on schedule anyways.
I suspect that an engine built for straight lines ultimately failed in the uphill winding curves,a less interesting but likely possibility.Raise an eyebrow at ram limitations and developer woes but consider that Skyrim should never have been released as is.
FC2 had right idea,wrong execution imo, hoping FC3 is better.
Only Canadian gamers can right these wrongs.

The price of downloadable full games is the main deterrent in my adoption of the medium,it is a little this side of outright robbery.
convenience isn't that precious,much less so than consistency,imo.
